Hi Plains Sand of Kanapolis has been contracted by the City of Abilene again this year to do chip seal work on designated streets. They are scheduled to be here applying the chip seal this Thursday, July 8, and most likely will complete the work in one day. If it is raining it will be delayed until the next day. The streets being sealed are as follows;
1. NW 2nd Street from just east of Walnut to Elm
2. SE 6th Street, from Buckeye to Campbell
3. SE 5th Street from Buckeye to Campbell
4. SW 3rd Street from Buckeye to Cedar
5. SW 2nd Street from Cedar to Elm
6. NW 5th Street from Pheasant Lane to Jefferson
To complete this work it will be necessary to have all parked automobiles moved during this time. Each of the streets will be blocked for an hour to an hour and a half while the sealing takes place and then will be opened to normal traffic shortly after. All residents cooperation will be appreciated and greatly minimize the time it takes to complete. If there are questions please contact Public Works at 263-3510
