[ARCHIVED] Mosquito Control

City of Abilene, Public Works personnel will be spraying the city for mosquito control, weather permitting, starting tonight. The application will take place at the optimum time for mosquito activity between the hours of 8:00 pm and 1:00 am. Tonight, Monday July 23rd, all streets and alleys west of Buckeye Avenue, from the Union Pacific tracks to NW Fourteenth Street will be treated. Tuesday night, July 24th, all areas south of the UP tracks, east of Buckeye and north of Fourteenth will be done. Spraying will be rescheduled for the next night if winds are greater than 10 mph or if there is rain.
