Phase One of the Abilene Intersection Improvement

Beginning Wednesday, April 16, traffic control will begin for the first phase of five for the intersection improvement at NW. 14th Street and N. Buckeye Avenue in the city of Abilene.

During phase one the outside lanes will be closed in all four directions of the intersection. Drivers will be able to perform all traffic movements, but due to the lane closures, will experience some delays.

Bryant and Bryant of Halstead, KS is the primary contractor for the project with a total contract cost of $542,054. Phase one is scheduled for completion in May 2019, weather permitting.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
