Abilene Police Department Halloween Activities

3rd Street to be closed between Walnut and Poplar for trick-or-treating

Abilene, Kan. -- The City of Abilene Police Department is participating and multiple Halloween festivities this year to promote safety for trick-or-treaters. Officers will be participating in a Trunk-or-Treat event at Pizza Hut, 1703 North Buckeye Avenue from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Additionally, officers will be participating at the St. Andrews Church Trunk-or-Treat event from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m at 301 South Buckeye Avenue.

Officers will also visit Kindergarten and First Grade students at Kennedy school and St. Andrew School to present a “Halloween Safe Night” program to teach students safety measures to take while trick-or-treating this year.

Residents should be aware that 3rd Street between Walnut and Poplar will be closed from 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. on Halloween for Trick-or-Treaters.  Officers will be present handing out glow sticks while supplies lasts.
