EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Our employee spotlight this week is Sergeant Mark Haaga.
Sergeant Haaga has been with the Abilene Police Department since 1999 and oversees the operations of the patrol division.
When asked what he enjoys about working with the department, he said, “Over the years, I have had a chance to work with some great people within the Police Department and community. The department is like a giant family whom you can always depend on, not only in your professional life but also in your personal life.”
Fun Facts about Sergeant Haaga:
π΅ He grew up in Salina and graduated from Salina Central High School and Barton County Community College.
π΅ He and his wife, Brenda, have four kids - two girls and two boys. They’re almost empty nesters with only one left at home.
π΅ Japan is the farthest place he has traveled, and he would like to visit Alaska someday.
π΅ On his bucket list? Never jump out of a perfectly good airplane!
π΅ He and Brenda enjoy spending their free time traveling to their youngest daughter’s sporting events and cheering her on!
π΅ He likes to keep things light and tries to make work fun for everyone!
Thank you, Sergeant Haaga, for all you do to protect and serve our community – while bringing fun to work life!
