[ARCHIVED] BNSF Railroad Crossing Closure on Buckeye (K-15) Scheduled for July 21–22, 2025

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has issued a permit for the temporary closure of K-15 / South Buckeye Ave at the BNSF Railroad crossing.

𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐋𝐄:
The Closure is scheduled for Monday, July 21, and Tuesday, July 22, weather permitting, to accommodate necessary "𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘", as noted on the KDOT permit.

𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐓: 
Along with the KDOT-proposed detour taking place on both state and county highways, 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞:

  • 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 on K-15/ Buckeye will detour on West 1st Street, then south on South Cedar Street, and finally east on SW 6th Street to return to K-15 / Buckeye. 
  • 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 will follow the same route in reverse.

Emergency services have been notified to ensure continued access and response coverage during the closure.
