[ARCHIVED] EXTENDED - BNSF Railroad Crossing Closure on Buckeye (K-15)

BSNF has extended its KDOT permit. The closure will now extend through Thursday, July 24, 2025.

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has issued a permit for the temporary closure of K-15 / South Buckeye Ave at the BNSF Railroad crossing.

๐’๐‚๐‡๐„๐ƒ๐”๐‹๐„:
The Closure is scheduled for Monday, July 21, and Tuesday, July 22 through Thursday, July 24, 2025, weather permitting, to accommodate necessary "๐‘ก๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘˜ ๐‘ค๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘˜", as noted on the KDOT permit.

Along with the KDOT-proposed detour taking place on both state and county highways, ๐š ๐ฅ๐จ๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ ๐๐ž๐ญ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐›๐ž ๐ข๐ง ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐œ๐ž ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐€๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐ž:

  • ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐›๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ on K-15/ Buckeye will detour on West 1st Street, then south on South Cedar Street, and finally east on SW 6th Street to return to K-15 / Buckeye. 
  • ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก๐›๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ will follow the same route in reverse.

Emergency services have been notified to ensure continued access and response coverage during the closure.
